Gracia: "I trust in the players' attitude and willingness to compete"
Javi Gracia offered his verdict on the draw against Cadiz CF in LaLiga, speaking in his post-match press conference at Mestalla. The Valencia CF coach fielded questions about the team's current situation and the need to pick up wins in the coming weeks.
Confidence in hard work
"I trust in the attitude of the players, their willingness to compete, the improvement in their work and the experience that they are gaining. We should push for more and it will help us to achieve better results. We have to be consistent and demanding, accept criticism because it is deserved, and then focus on what we can do. We have to look for the way to come together and become stronger, because we aren't going to have much help."
The current situation
"The current situation is that we have to get out of the bottom positions in the table. When we do that, it will allow us to see how far this team can go. At the moment, we have enough on our hands with winning a game. Then we need to win two."
The winter transfer window
"The president has heard the needs of the team from my own mouth. There is a list of priorities in accordance with the financial possibilities the club have. It will be the club who decide which players are brought in. My responsibility is not to decide who will come here. I want players to come here to help us. I am never going to say no to any player."
Maximum dedication
"I work every day with the idea that I am going to be at Valencia CF for a long time. My motivation and dedication is maximal. I live for my profession and I try to do my job as well as possible. What I can contribute is how I am as a coach: Always trying to be demanding on myself and improve the situations that we have."
Turning attention to the Copa del Rey
"Now I am thinking about the Copa del Rey game. When I get home I will analyse tonight's game and think about the next match."
